Project AgroRhino

What was created?

AgroRhino (Farmer Alert) is an integrated monitoring and alert platform for agricultural regions. It combines AI forecasts, weather data, and regional risk scoring in a desktop admin application built with Python and Tkinter.

When was it built?

This project was developed during More Professional Week.

Why was it needed?

Farmers in regions like Tanzania face severe losses from droughts, floods, and unpredictable weather. Alerts often arrive too late. AgroRhino provides early warnings and a centralized command console so regional teams can act faster and protect crops.

Key components built during this project:

• AI Risk Forecasting: Weather ingestion and risk-scoring logic to predict severe conditions by region.
• Live Monitoring Dashboard: Maps, statistics, and status cards for real-time operational awareness.
• Incident Management: End-to-end handling from detection to resolution with audit-ready logs.
• Multi-Channel Alerts: Automated or manual warnings via SMS and mobile notifications.
• Security & Access Control: Role-based access, login lockout, and comprehensive event logging.
