Context & Background

What was created?

BrieHosting is a hosting platform for small websites and apps. It was designed as a cheaper and easier alternative to complex hosting services, while still keeping deployments secure and manageable.

Why was it needed?

The project was created for SKILL 2/2 (BPU2) to show how a hosting workflow can be simplified for clients who want to publish a site without dealing with the technical overhead of manual server management.

My Role & Contribution

I focused on the administration side of BrieHosting and helped make the platform easier to manage.

  • Developed the admin dashboard
  • Helped implement the dashboard functionality
  • Supported the management of hosting operations

Realisations & Features

Key components built during this project:

  • Proxmox + LXC Hosting: Websites and apps were hosted inside lightweight containers for clean separation and easier management.
  • Node.js Management API: An API was created to automate hosting tasks and keep the platform manageable.
  • Supabase Authentication: Login and database handling were integrated for account and data management.
  • Cloudflare Tunnel: Sites were exposed safely online without opening the server directly to the public internet.
  • Security & Operations: Backups, logging, firewall rules, and general hardening were implemented to keep the platform stable and secure.
